Just when Bollywood was beginning to resume shoots at a normal pace, after a year of reeling under the effects of the pandemic and the lockdown, several Bollywood celebs tested positive for Covid-19. Just this week, five well-known celebrities contracted the virus and are currently under quarantine. Here are the celebs who tested positive for Covid-19 recently:
Tara Sutaria is the latest Bollywood actress to have tested positive for Covid-19. While there has been no confirmation, Filmfare reported that the actress had indeed contracted the novel coronavirus. Tara had recently wrapped up the shoot of ‘Tadap’ with Ahan Shetty. The Milan Luthria-directorial is scheduled to hit screens on September 24.
Ranbir Kapoor, too, has tested positive for Covid-19 as confirmed by his actress-mother Neetu Kapoor on Instagram. The veteran actress posted a photo of Ranbir and wrote that he was on medication, recovering well, and quarantined at home. “Thank you for your concern and your good wishes. Ranbir has tested positive for Covid-19. He is on medication and recovering well. He is in self-quarantine at home and following all precautions,” she informed.
Manoj Bajpayee also tested positive for Covid-19 after the director of his film ‘Despatch’, Kanu Behl, got infected with the virus. The duo had been shooting for the film, which has now been put on hold for a month, till the two recuperate. A statement released by Manoj’s team read: “Manoj Bajpayee has tested Covid positive after his director was infected. The shoot has been stopped. Manoj is on medication and recovering well. He is in self-quarantine at home and following all precautions”.

After news of Ranbir Kapoor contracting the virus started doing rounds on social media, several reports claimed that Bhansali had also tested positive on the sets of his upcoming film, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. The shooting has now been stalled till further notice. Meanwhile, the entire cast and crew were also tested and asked to quarantine.
Ashish Vidyarthi, too, tested positive for coronavirus and was admitted to a hospital in Delhi. The actor took to Twitter and Instagram to share a video on his health condition and advised people who came in contact with him to get tested. Sharing a video, Ashish posted, “This is one positive I didn’t want… I tested positive for #Covid… Whoever has come in touch with me, please get yourself tested. I am symptom-free as of now… Trust shall be fine soon. Your wishes and love are invaluable. Alshukran Bandhu… Alshukran Zindagi!” In the video, he informed, “Yesterday I felt a little feverish, so I took the Covid test, which has turned out positive. I am now moving to a hospital here in Delhi. All well. I am good”.
