Deepika's new ad accused of plagiarism

Deepika Padukone’s new Levis ad has run into a major controversy. An internet user questioned the backdrop and the set of the ad in question, claiming that it was identical to the one in Sooni Taraporevalla’s ‘Yeh Ballet’. The production designer for the advertisement Rupin Suchak has admitted that it is the case. ETimes is bringing you the story FIRST.
Take a look at the screenshots below:

Worse, Rupin says he was told by the Levis ad director Nadia Marquard Otzen to make it that way. He writes, “Yes we did 🙂 in fact that’s what our director wanted so we had to recreate that”.

Sooni has lashed out against the ad saying that this kind of plagiarism is nothing but intellectual theft. ‘It is a sad state of affairs that intellectual rights in Indian cinema, TV and modelling industry are not protected” says a source.

‘Yeh Ballet’ was produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur.
