Aditya Dhar’s ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ starring Vicky Kaushal became one of the most loved and talked-about films of 2019. While the film was based on a real-life incident that took place in a place called ‘Uri’ in Jammu and Kashmir, the film was shot in Serbia.
Yes, you read it right! Spilling the beans on the same in an exclusive interview with ETimes, Kirti Kulhari said, “It is funny that this film actually got shot in Serbia. I don’t know why we decided to shoot there. However, it was amazing how we were in a different country and yet when we were all together shooting this film, we never felt that we were not in our own country.”
Elaborating further, the actress added, “We were shooting there with the choppers and Mi-17 and there was defense personnel around us. I think if you are in the defense, serving your country, the feelings are the same. I actually had a Serbian man as a co-pilot next to me. I was being explained by Serbian Air Force pilots.”
Kirti played an Air Force pilot named Seerat Kaur in the movie. Although the screen time of the actress in the film was shot, she received immense love and appreciation for her performance. The movie also starred Yami Gautam in a key role.
