Actor, author, acting teacher and producer, Anupam Kher has been entertaining the audience for close to three decades now. He has acted in over 500 films in various languages. Apart from displaying his acting skills in Bollywood and various regional languages, the National award-winning actor has also been a part of international and world cinema. Some of his pathbreaking films include, ‘Saransh’, ‘Tezaab’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun, ‘ Karma’, ‘A Wednesday’, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Special 26’, ‘MS Dhoni’.

Anupam Kher was born on March 7 in a Kashmiri Pandit family in Shimla. He received his education at the DAV school. To pursue his passion for acting, he joined the National School of Drama.

Anupam Kher had his share of struggles and downfalls, but that didn’t deter the actor from achieving his goals. Not many of you must be aware that he used to sleep on platforms and benches in Mumbai without food and shelter during his struggling days.
He has two bungalows in Juhu in Mumbai and two swanky luxury cars. As per reports, his net worth is 70 million dollars (Rs 400 crore). He has even gifted his mother a dream house in Shimla. Sharing a picture of the house, the actor had once shared on Instagram, “We Indians want to have our own home in a place where we grew up. Happy 2 share, we have our 1st ever home in Shimla…”
During a media interaction, Anupam Kher revealed that when he was filming ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’, he suffered facial paralysis and informed the filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya about his condition, telling him that his face was twisted, but he will shoot.

The actor, who started a public charitable trust Anupam Kher Foundation in 2008, has won five Filmfare awards for his comic roles in films. He has also bagged eight back-to-back Filmfare awards for other character roles. Apart from that, he was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2004 and Padma Bhushan in 2016 by the Government of India for his contribution in the fields of cinema and arts.
