Rati Agnihotri fondly remembers Rajiv Kapoor

On Tuesday, actor, and filmmaker Rajiv Kapoor left earth for his heavenly abode after he suffered a heart attack and doctors declared him dead at a Mumbai hospital. While several Bollywood stars including Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Prem Chopra, and more were spotted arriving at the late actor’s residence for the last rites, others took to social media to offer condolences to the Kapoor family.

Talking about it, actress Rati Agnihotri who shared the big screen with Rajiv in ‘Zabardast’ and ‘Zalzala’, opened up about working with him in a recent interview with a news portal. Reminiscing the late actor’s style that reminded Rati of Shammi Kapoor, she revealed how crushed she was on hearing the news of his demise.

She further called Kapoor an ever-smiling prankster and shared a memory of shooting in Panchgani for ‘Zabardast’ helmed by Nasir Hussain where Rajiv had got an “earful” from the director for throwing Rati in the pool jokingly in her film costume.

She said co-star Sunny Deol, Rajiv, and their co-producer were also the ones who used to make spooky noises in the night to scare their film unit during their film shoot in a secluded house.

Meanwhile, Madhuri Dixit who was a part of Rajiv’s first directorial ‘Prem Granth’ tweeted, “I had the opportunity of working with #Rajiv Kapoor in the film PremGranth. It was a difficult subject which he handled with great maturity though it was his first film. Remembering the wonderful moments we shared. My heartfelt condolences to the Kapoor family. RIP.”
