All the apprehension about weak demand of the iPhone 12 mini may want you to believe that Apple might not continue with the small screen size iPhone. However, popular tipster and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims otherwise.
As per a report by 9to5Mac, Kuo has said that this year too, Apple plans to launch four models in the same exact screen sizes as the iPhone 12 models. This means that the iPhone 13 models — expected to be called iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max — may appear in the same screen sizes as 2020’s models.
Since the last couple of months, there have been reports about a lukewarm response to the cheapest Apple iPhone of 2020.
As per an investors note by JP Morgan supply chain analyst William Yang, Apple may even stop production of iPhone 12 Mini in the second quarter of 2021.
As per Apple Insider, which has seen the note, “…given the seemingly weak demand for iPhone 12 mini, the supply chain may stop producing it by the second quarter of 2021.”
Yang did reveal the likely reason for Apple to cut the production of iPhone mini, but probable reasons could be the small screen size or small battery size.
Apple iPhone 12 mini is the smallest-screen iPhone of the company’s 2020 lineup. It runs on the same processor as the other 2020 iPhones. It also shares some other specs with higher-priced iPhone 12.
In another recent claim by Ming-Chi Kuo, the upcoming Apple iPhone 13 Pro model will feature a 120Hz LTPO display that is supposed to draw a lesser amount of power, leading to longer battery life. Kuo’s claims were reported first by MacRumors.
